Manama, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), met with Vladimir Maksimov, President of Children of Asia International Committee (CAIC).
The meeting discussed means to further enhance cooperation to create various programmes and activities supporting children’s development in sports, culture, and health.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the CAIC’s efforts to organise sporting and cultural programmes and events for children of Asia to raise their awareness of sports values.
He emphasised the BOC’s keenness to build a healthy fit generation by enhancing children’s talent from an early age through sports initiatives that target school children.
Bahrain will host the International School Sport Federation (ISF) Gymnasiade in October 2024, he added.
