Gaza, October 23 (QNA) – HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) Board visited today Al Fakhoora office in the Gaza Strip.
During the visit, Her Highness met with a number of representatives of students Al Fakhoora for the scholarship program, a program designed to empower and train students in Gaza to become future leaders with civilian thinking and professional skills to prepare them for the job market.
The program currently offers 300 scholarships for university education and ten international scholarships for masters. Al Fakhoora will offer additional 900 scholarships for students in Gaza to pursue higher education, whether in Gaza or abroad.
HH Sheikah Moza said: “Today I have witnessed for myself some of the inspirational steps being taken to enable young people to benefit from the basic human right of a full, high-quality education”.
“Education is under attack wherever we look. There are some 61 million children across the world who do not have access to basic primary education, 28 million of whom live in conflict zones. (QNA)
