HM the Sultan, King of Bahrain exchange decorations, mementos

Manama: On the occasion of His Majesty the Sultan visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, have exchanged orders, and commemorative gifts at Al Sakhir Palace in Manama.

The King of Bahrain conferred on His Majesty the Sultan the “Order of Sheikh Issa bin Salman Al Khalifa—Excellent Class”, which is Bahrain’s most supreme accolade. The conferment of the Order demonstrates the King’s deep appreciation for His Majesty the Sultan and incarnates the deep-rooted historical relations binding Oman and Bahrain.

Meanwhile, His Majesty the Sultan decorated the King of Bahrain with “Oman Civil Order—First Class”, which is Oman’s loftiest accolade. The conferment of the Order manifests His Majesty the Sultan’s appreciation for the King of Bahrain and reflects pride over the depth of fraternal relations between the two countries’ peoples.

Then, King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa presented His Majesty the Sultan with a commemorative gift that was a sword and a rifle. In return, His Majesty the Sultan presented an Omani Khanjar (dagger) to King Hamad.

The exchange of decorations was attended by the official delegations of the Omani and Bahraini sides, as well as senior Bahrain government officials.
