Muscat, His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik today received greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr from Khalid Hilal al-Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis A’Shura, reading as follows:

Your Majesty, Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, peace be upon you.

As Muslims in all corners of the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr for the year 1442 AH, concluding the month of fasting, Ramadan, bringing them closer to the Almighty Allah, I am honoured, and so are members of Majlis A’Shura and its Secretariat-General, to greet Your Majesty on this happy occasion, praying to the Almighty Allah to accept your fasting, prayers, supplication and good deeds and to grant you good health and a long life.

Your Majesty,

Your Royal care and timely follow-up of conditions of your people—for whom you have achieved scopes for stability and lavish living—stems from Your Majesty’s paternal attention, evidenced by the roadmap of action that Your Majesty has charted out for all tracks of national development under the Renewed Omani Renaissance.

It reflects Your Majesty’s judicious stance, as you set out with firm will to accomplish the mission of ensuring stability, security and decent living for your loyal people. Today, your loyal people, citizens of Oman, constitute an intact social texture and embrace the principles and values of the original Omani society—all in manifestation of love and sense of belonging.

Your Majesty,

I would like to express thanks, appreciation and gratitude for Your Majesty’s follow-up of efforts exerted by your government and the State’s civil, military and civil society institutions as they battle the global pandemic of coronavirus. Those efforts have had the greatest role in ensuring safe and convenient life in the country. We all pray to the Almighty Allah to eradicate this pandemic and to make all days in Oman moments of celebration of prosperous life. We wish that Oman, the Arab world and Islamic nation will relish the bounties of blessings and wellbeing for years to come.

Happy Eid al-Fitr, Your Majesty.
