Hotel blast kills 3, wounds 7 in Afghanistan

At least three people were killed and seven others wounded in a blast that ripped through a hotel in Afghanistan’s southeastern Khost province on Monday, said officials.

Police spokesperson in Kabul Khalid Zadran told media that the blast occurred in a hotel near Spin mosque in the city of Khost. The statement said that three dead bodies and seven wounded were brought to the hospital.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the blast but the so-called Islamic State (IS) or Daesh have taken responsibility for several attacks in Afghanistan’s different areas.

According to a UN report, over 1,000 Afghan civilians have been killed in bombings and other violent acts since foreign forces left Afghanistan in 2021, as Taliban took over control of the country
