Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, met Gladden Pappin, President of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA), on the sideline of her participation at the Fifth Budapest Demographic Summit (BDS) in Hungary, deputised by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The meeting was attended by Abdulla Abdullatif Abdullah, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Hungary, residing in Berlin.
The two sides discussed topics on the agenda of BDS topics.
Minister Al Romaihi highlighted the plans and programmes of the kingdom’s government to provide social support for Bahraini families.
Al Romaihi reviewed the housing services provided by the government to the citizens throughout the kingdom’s modern history, including building housing cities and providing housing units to Bahraini families.
The minister highlighted the last decade’s housing achievements, including the 40,000 housing units constructed following His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives, in addition to the diversification of options for the citizens through private sector partnerships, housing financing programmes, and Government Land Development Rights Programme, all of which aiming to sustain housing services and provide immediate solutions.
The meeting discussed further enhancing cooperation with the HIIA and benefiting from the institute’s expertise in the legislative, planning, and programmes to provide social support for the citizens.
Pappin praised the plans and programmes aimed at supporting Bahraini citizens by providing housing and social services to them.
He affirmed the HIIA’s readiness to cooperate with the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry through the exchange of expertise in various domains.
