HRH the Deputy King receives the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore

The Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today received the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore, the Honourable Sundaresh Menon, at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of advancing the Kingdom’s judicial system to reinforce the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role in commercial arbitration, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

HRH the Deputy King emphasised the pivotal role of international commercial arbitration institutions in supervising the proper conduct of arbitration proceedings.

His Royal Highness acknowledged the importance of cooperation and sharing of expertise between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Singapore in settling commercial disputes, which help develop the Kingdom’s judicial system, in line with international best practices.

His Royal Highness concluded by wishing the Honourable Sundaresh Menon a pleasant stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

For his part, the Honourable Sundaresh Menon thanked His Royal Highness for his warm welcome and noted that stronger cooperation between the two countries helped achieve common aspirations.

The Honourable Sundaresh Menon wished the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.

The Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, also attended the meeting.
