IMF experts to discuss Oman’s macroeconomic developments

Muscat: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission began a series of meetings here on Tuesday within the framework of 2022 Article IV talks.

The meetings, which run until 4 October, are hosted by Oman, represented by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) and the Ministry of Finance.


IMF delegates will meet with officials of the CBO, the Ministry of Finance, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Labour and representatives of other governmental and non-governmental agencies and civil society institutions.

The IMF will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the economic and financial situation in Oman.

IMF experts will also discuss the latest macroeconomic developments and related expectations, as well as fiscal and monetary policies, the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) and the management of sovereign assets.

The experts will submit a detailed report to the IMF Executive Council about the economic situation in Oman.
