The Industrial Innovation Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Implementation and Follow up Support Unit will organize a celebration on Wednesday at Oman Tourism College to mark the graduation of 100 industrial innovation specialists.
During the event that will be sponsored by Dr. Fouad bin Jaafar al- Sagwani, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Center’s four programs will be launched. The programs include the rehabilitation of 100 innovation specialists, the establishment of innovation based startups, supporting the existing innovation based companies and industrial sector and reviewing the winning projects.
Dr. Ali bin Masoud al- Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry said that converting the Industrial Innovation Center to a company and providing the governmental financial subsidy comes within the National Economic Diversification Program “Tanfeedh’ to activate integration between the industrial, academic and public sectors. During the next stage, the Center will adopt the innovation policies and activate the industrial innovation system to make the Omani industries more competitive and maximize their contribution to the diversification of the national economy.
He added that the Center encourages industrialists to adopt novel ideas, rehabilitate innovation efficiencies at all levels at the organizational charts of the factories, benefiting from the subsidy provided by the Industrial Innovation Center and transfer of technology.
