Iraqi oil deliveries to Jordan resumed: Jordanian Energy Ministry

Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources today announced the resumption of the transportation of Iraqi crude oil to Jordan.

Iman Awad, Director of the Ministry’s Oil and Gas Directorate, said that 422 tankers were loaded with Iraqi crude oil, with a total amount of 105,000 barrels, PETRA reported.

Awad added that about 300 tankers have already arrived in Jordan, loaded with Iraqi Kirkuk crude oil, with an amount of 80,000 barrels that were unloaded at Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company Ltd (JPRC), based on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a contract signed to export Iraqi oil to Jordan.

Awad noted quantities of oil imported from Iraq constitute about 7% of the Kingdom’s crude oil needs.
