We have also seen that the ICT sector has not only remained healthy during the recent financial crisis but has sustained the global economy through a difficult period. It is therefore of crucial importance that we continue to push forward with the implementation of the WSIS goals to ensure that people everywhere derive the full benefits from information and communication technologies.” Looking beyond 2015, governments, private sector, civil society and international organizations take stock, analyse and plan the way forward taking into account the increasingly indispensable role of ICTs in the area of health, education, climate change, environmental conservation and sustainable development.
