Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the joint statement issued by Aqaba meeting in Jordan, which included Jordanian, Egyptian, Israeli, Palestinian, US officials.

Oman hopes that the understandings that took place will lead to de-escalation, preventing a cycle of violence between Palestinian, Israeli sides.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “Oman reiterates its unwavering stance towards the Palestinian cause by enabling the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
