Jordan, UK FMs weigh Gaza ceasefire efforts

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron discussed over the phone on Monday ongoing efforts to ensure a permanent ceasefire and delivery of sufficient humanitarian to the Gaza Strip.

During the phone conversation, the two ministers discussed U.S. President Joe Biden’s proposal to reach a deal for a permanent ceasefire and adequate humanitarian aid to the enclave, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

The Jordanian foreign minister reiterated his country’s support for the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the U.S. to reach an exchange deal. Earlier in the day, the foreign ministers of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt underlined that it is essential to seriously and positively engage with US President Joe Biden’s proposal on a ceasefire and aid delivery across Gaza.
