Kuwait chief lawmaker hails parliament achievements as “fulfilling”

Kuwait’s top lawmaker Ahmad Al-Saadoun on Wednesday praised the outcome of the latest sessions of parliament as “fulfilling”, saying the raft of legislation recently approved will be instrumental in bringing national aspirations to fruition.

These laws run the gamut from electoral legislation to social insurance policies, he told the closing session of parliament ahead of the forthcoming legislative term, underlining his optimism that lawmakers will continue to build on such progress.

He spoke of the “amity” that brings lawmakers and state ministers together for the best interests of the nation, saying such dedication will help place the country firmly on the path towards a “more prosperous future,” as he looked forward to similar legislative success.

On the latest sessions of parliament, Kuwait’s chief lawmaker said he noticed a “tangible” improvement in the cooperation between the country’s legislative and executive powers, which will help translate the aspirations of Kuwaitis into realities, he said.

He went on to acknowledge the collective efforts of state bodies in achieving significant objectives, pointing out that goals were accomplished with “promptness and efficiency.” Kuwait’s top lawmaker adjourned on Wednesday the ordinary session of the National Assembly’s 17th legislative term after the conclusion parliament’s last session.
