Labour and Social Development Ministry highlights digital strides

(BNA): The Ministry of Labour and Social Development has launched 52 electronic services since the end of 2020, in cooperation with other Government entities, including the Information and Electronic Government Authority (iGA).

“The services delivered to non-government organisations include employment, insurance against unemployment, licensing daycare clubs, people with physical disabilities and social assistance”, said Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan.

He stressed the ministry’s strides in providing digital services, allowing communication and interaction with beneficiaries in an easy and appropriate manner.

He stressed the importance of investing in technological developments to provide services in a more accessible manner, and to overcome the difficulties for citizens to benefit from the services.

He hailed the resolutions of the Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to speed up digital transformation as part of the mandatory precautionary measures to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

“This positive shift through modern technical means allows beneficiaries to access these services at any time and in an easy and convenient manner, through the e-government portal and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development’s portal”, he said.

He said that 122 services have been launched through various channels, including the call centres, the email, adding that applications can now be downloaded from the ministry’s website, filled and sent via email.
