Labour Minister patronises ASRY celebration marking Labour Day

As part of Bahrain’s commemoration of the International Workers’ Day, the trade union of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) organized yesterday a celebration marking the event. It was held under the patronage of Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan and was attended by ASRY Human Resources and Development Director Shaikh Daij bin Mohammed bin Daij Al Khalifa, the trade union’s Chairman Yousef Al-Magahwi and workers from the company.

In a statement marking the occasion, the Labour Minister praised ASRY as one of the national companies which play a prominent role in backing the national economy and employing Bahraini workers. He stressed the importance of promoting the tripartite dialogue between the production sides to ensure stability and growth of the companies. He also affirmed that the Ministry of Labour takes advantage of the Labour Day to re-emphasise the significance of the values of work and protecting the rights of the production sides within a secure work environment governed by the Labour Law.

Workers who served 30 years in ASRY were honored at the celebration.
