More Than 10 Thousand People Evacuated in Kazakhstan Due to Floods


More than 10 thousand people were evacuated from seven regions of Kazakhstan due to freshets, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Trend reported.

The affected regions include Turkestan, Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Ulytau, and Abay. Among those evacuated, 5,101 are children.

According to the information, rescue efforts involve over 6 thousand people, nearly 2 thousand pieces of equipment, and 12 aircraft. Local emergencies were declared in areas severely impacted by floods.
