MP Bilal Abdallah stressed Sunday on totally refusing to have a reproduction of the current covenant.

He emphasized that “change is coming, and we want a new president of the republic that does not play with powers here and interpretations of the constitution there, while diminishing the power of others…”

‘We are a people who struggle, persevere and fight for their freedom, sovereignty and independence, and we will not despair and will not be discouraged,” he said, stressing that as a Progressive Socialist Party, they do not wish to “engage in any sectarian approach, but rather wish to keep our discourse at the national level, searching for common spaces with everyone…” He added that anyone who responds will be welcomed and appreciated, whereas those who do not respond will bear a historical responsibility for what has befallen of the state.

MP Abdallah’s words came as he represented the Democratic Gathering’s Head, MP Taymour Jumblatt, at the opening ceremony of the “Al-Burjain Volleyball Festival” held by Al-Burjain Cultural and Social Association at its public school’s football field.

Abdallah commended the festival organizers and the participating youth members, “who express the adherence of the young generation, and all of us, to life regardless of the difficulties, whatever the circumstances and burdens.”
