MP Fadi Karam on Wednesday urged the Lebanese parties to agree over the new president of the republic, warning that the failure to reach an agreement puts the country’s future at risk.

“There is no solution to the presidency issue other than agreement,” the “Strong Republic” bloc MP told Voice of Lebanon radio station. “The failure to agree over the new president threatens Lebanon’s future,” he said.

The lawmaker denied that the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement had discussed the presidential file. According to him, the qualities the LF looks for in the new president are different than of the FPM.
