MP Nadim Gemayel wrote on social media marking the sad August 4 commemoration: ‘Wars don’t need to happen for a city to be destroyed and for innocent people to die…Atimes, illegal weapons and a statelet that destroys the country and stores nitrate between houses, are more dangerous than all enemies and cause more destruction than all wars…”

He added, “On this painful anniversary, we pray for the souls of the victims of August 4, and for the injured and affected…in the hope of achieving justice.”
