Nahyan opens the fifth annual gathering of ZU in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced a number of initiatives of Zayed University (ZU) for this academic year, notably, the opening of new institutes, implementation of the new organisational structure and commencing the using of mobile Tablet PCs.

Sheikh Nahyan was addressing the fifth annual gathering of ZU on Thursday. The minister tackled in his speech the scientific and educational strategies in the new academic year. Sheikh Shakbout bin Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, Vice President of Zayed University, Larry Wilson, Provost and Deputy Vice President of ZU, a number of senior officials, experts, dignitaries, and teaching and administrative staff were present.

“The opening of new institutes will make ZU an advanced university. The institutes will focus on the national identity, economy, world peace, educational technology, training, public health, energy and environmental studies,” he added.

After completion of the campus construction in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, he continued, ZU is ready to pursue more sustainable future plans, and “it is high time to occupy its position among the major universities worldwide”, She Nahyan said.
