National Committee for Climate Change Meets

Muscat, The National Committee for Climate Change held its first meeting in 2017 under the chair of Najeeb bin Ali al-Rowas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs.

Dr. Malik bin Mohammed al-Wardi, Director of the Agricultural Research Station at the Environmental Studies and Researches Center in the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) made a presentation on the subsidy provided by the green climate fund for the projects that aim at acclimatizing with and alleviating climate change.

Ibrahim bin Ahmed al-Ajmi, Director General of Climate Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs reviewed a report on the potential of benefit of comprehensive development sectors in the Sultanate from finance funds of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its annexed Kyoto Protocol.
