NATO, South Korea strengthen cooperation on air safety

Representatives from the South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration took part in a meeting of the NATO Aviation Committee on Wednesday at NATO Headquarters.

At the meeting, a recognition process was launched by NATO of the Military Airworthiness Authority of Korea, said a NATO statement.

This achievement represents an important step forward in the implementation of NATO’s Airworthiness Policy, which will contribute to greater interoperability, and to boosting air safety cooperation across the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific regions.

The NATO Aviation Committee’s mandate is to support NATO efforts to continue adapting to the rapidly evolving security environment in an increasingly complex and networked airspace, it added.
