NDC Hosts Chairman of International Foundation for Energy and Sustainable Development

The National Defence College (NDC) hosted Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, Chairman of the Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah International Foundation for Energy and Sustainable Development, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry in the sisterly State of Qatar.

Maj-Gen Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Commandant of the National Defence College (NDC), welcomed the guest, explaining the importance of the lecture, which comes within the curriculum of the general requirements of the fifth session of the NDC. In his lecture titled “OPEC and its Role in Balancing the World Oil Markets: Reality and Challenges ” he addressed a number of themes, including the economic and political roles of OPEC, the mechanisms used to control global oil prices, and the extent to which the political and economic objectives of Member States are affected by the role and effectiveness of the Organization.

Lt-Gen. Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces , Maj-Gen Ghosn bin Hilal al- Alawi, Assistant Chief of the Internal Security Service for Operations, a number of honorable members of the State Council, the Qatari Ambassador to the Sultanate, a number of members of Majlis A’Shura , Senior officers of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and other military and security forces, academics from Sultan Qaboos University, the military attache at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Muscat, and the Guidance faculty of the NDC attended the lecture.
