NSSA, Strathclyde University discuss space cooperation


Manama, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, Chief Executive of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), underscored the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships between the public and private institutions in Bahrain.

This came during a visit by NSSA officials to the new Strathclyde University campus at Harbour Heights in Bahrain Financial Harbour where the two sides discussed means to enhance cooperation.

Dr. Al Aseeri noted that the visit builds on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year during the NSSA’s visit to the university in Scotland. The agreement aims to provide NSSA members with opportunities for postgraduate studies in space-related fields and to facilitate knowledge exchange in scientific research and joint projects.

He emphasised that partnering with a renowned institution like Strathclyde University will strengthen the research and technical capabilities of young Bahraini talent in space sciences, supporting His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision of positionin
g Bahrain as a leader in the rapidly expanding space sector.

On his part, Dr. Abdullah Al Sada, General Manager of S Eleven Educational Company, a partner of Strathclyde University, highlighted the university’s role as a regional hub for innovation, research, and advanced education.

He said that collaborations with institutions such as the NSSA align with the company’s mission to drive educational innovation and leverage global expertise, significantly advancing Bahrain’s knowledge sector and the region.
