Oman condemns terrorist attacks in Somalia

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has denounced and expressed its condemnation on the two attacks with using cars in the Federal Republic of Somalia.

“The Sultanate of Oman expresses its condemnation of the two simultaneous attacks with two booby-trapped cars in the city of Mahas in the Hiran region in central Somalia. Oman expresses sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the Federal Republic of Somalia and to the families of the victims, and wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured, ” Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

At least 19 people were killed on Wednesday when two car bombs exploded in central Somalia, which was claimed by the extremist Al-Shabab movement.

This comes after the statements of the local security official, Abdullah Adan, who said: “Terrorists attacked the town of Mahas, using two booby-trapped vehicles.”

The official accused the militants of the takfiri group “Al-Shabab” linked to Al-Qaeda of carrying out the attack in retaliation for the intensive military operations launched by the Somali government against it recently.
