Dubai, The General Commission for the Sultanate’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai organized a field visit to the Expo site. The visit came in coordination with the concerned authorities in preparation for the Sultanate’s participation in the international event.
Expo 2020 is planned to commence on 1 October 2021 and will run until 31 March 2022.
The Omani delegation participating during the visit included Mohsin Khamis al-Balushi, Commissioner General of the Sultanate at Expo 2020 Dubai, Sayyid Said Sultan al-Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, Sheikh Salim Musallam al-Kathiri, Head of the Sultanate’s Commercial Office in Dubai and officials from the public and private sectors institutions in the Sultanate.
An invitation was extended to the Sultanate by the Expo’s Organizing Committee to participate in the international meeting of participants in Expo 2020 Dubai.
During the visit, the organizing committee discussed the activities and programs planned during the exhibition’s period.
The pavilion was built and designed in a distinctive modern style inspired by one of the icons of nature in Oman, which is the frankincense tree.
Its construction was divided to tell the story of the frankincense life cycle through its five zones relevant to the central theme and the three sub-themes of Expo 2020 Dubai.
In addition to the modern design, the latest technologies have been used to present and highlight the pavilion’s story to make the visitor’s journey a fascinating and memorable experience.
Mohsin bin Khamis al-Balushi, Commissioner-General of the Sultanate at Expo 2020 Dubai stressed that the operational level of the Sultanate’s pavilion at Expo Dubai has reached 89%, with most of the components of the pavilion have been completed.
Expos are global events dedicated to finding solutions to humanity’s fundamental challenges by offering a journey inside a chosen theme through engaging and immersive activities.
