Oman Girl Guides Participate in 37th World Guides Conference

Muscat, The Sultanate Girl Guides are currently taking part in the 37th World Conference for Girl Guides, which kicked off today.

The virtual Conference, held during 27-31 July, themed “Walking Together, Walking Far”.

The Sultanate’s delegation is headed by Nadhira Ahmed al Harthi, Assistant Director General for Girl Guides in the General Directorate for Girl Scouts and Guides.

The conference sessions will preview proposals and documents about the World Girl Guides Camp, and the governance and leadership structures of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

One of the conference sessions is allocated for voting on a number of proposals for the statute and bylaws of the WAGGGS.

The conference agenda also involve studying and defining the World Girl Guides and Girl Scouting policy, devising the strategic plan for the next three years, discussing labor affairs, and voting to choose the host country for the next conference.

It is noteworthy that the Sultanate has submitted its candidacy to host the 38th conference, scheduled to be held in 2023.
