Oman Participates in 2nd Ministerial Meeting for Strategic Dialogue between GCC and Central Asian Countries


Tashkent: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Foreign Ministry took part today in the 2ndMinisterial Meeting for the Strategic Dialogue between the GCC and Central Asian Countries, held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.

The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was chaired by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.

The meeting aimed at bolstering the relations between the two sides. It served the consultation between both sides in various issues of common concern in a manner that serves interests of the GCC and Central Asian peoples.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sayyid Badr held meetings of with the foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.

He also held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan.

Meanwhile, the President Shavkat Mirziyanyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan received Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister today within the context of the GCC-Central Asian Countries’ 2ndministerial meeting, in which Sayyid Badr heads the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation.

ayyid Badr conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to President Shavkat Mirziyanyev, along with His Majesty the Sultan’s wishes of progress and prosperity for the friendly people of Uzbekistan.

For his part, President Shavkat Mirziyanyev expressed his appreciation and sincere greetings to His Majesty the Sultan and Omani people, hoping that relations between the two friendly countries will grow further.

Within the framework of the visit, Sayyid Badr made a short tour of some historical Islamic monuments in the Uzbek region of Samarkand and held a meeting with the Governor of region.
