Muscat, The Sultanate participated in the 7th periodic meeting of GCC Chairmen of Supreme and Cassation Courts.

The Sultanate was represented in the virtual meeting by Sayyid Khalifa Said Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Chairman of the Administrative Affairs Council for the Judiciary

The meeting discussed a number of important themes, including the GCC unified system for supreme courts and courts of cassation project, as well as the proposal of the Court of Cassation in the Kingdom of Bahrain pertaining to information technology and artificial intelligence in courts.

The meeting also discussed the proposal of the State of Qatar on the experiences of GCC countries’ courts under Covid-19 pressures.

The meeting comes within the framework of exchanging expertise and activating joint agreements between the GCC countries to achieve their common goals, which will strengthen judicial cooperation between the supreme and cassation courts, and keeping up with the latest developments.
