Oman Participates in Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue

Represented by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman is taking part in “Berlin Energy Transition” dialogue, held here.

The two-day event draws a large number of foreign ministers, energy ministers and experts in energy and related policies from the private sector.

Oman is represented at the dialogue by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, who was jointly invited to the conference by Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Germany, and Dr. Robert Habeck, Vice-Chancellor of Germany and Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The dialogueseeks to discuss the challenges facing the world in the field of energy and means of switching to renewable and more sustainable energy sources. The approach gains impetus in the backdrop of a global trend to embrace a green future and apply the best practices in this field.

The dialogueprovides an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas about measures of achieving a safe and environmentally responsible global energy transition.

Sayyid Badr’s participation in the event reflects Oman’s commitment to consolidate international cooperation and national approaches aimed to espouse policies for addressing the impacts of climate change and realizing carbon neutrality by 2050. It demonstrates that Oman is keeping pace with global trends aimed at cutting down carbon emissions.
