Oman Participates in GCC Agricultural Cooperation Committee Meeting

Muscat, The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources took part today in the 31st ministerial meeting of the GCC Agricultural Cooperation Committee (ACC).

The Sultanate’s delegation in the meeting, held via video-conferencing, was headed by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

The meeting discussed a spectrum of topics related to the food security, agriculture and fisheries sectors.

The meeting also covered the agenda of the Permanent Committee for Agricultural Systems and Policies and the Permanent Committee for Livestock.

It was agreed during the meeting to keep the fees of agricultural quarantine on agricultural products of national origin. The meeting also approved the lists of suspended and banned pesticides in the GCC.

It also ratified the GCC Animal Disease Control Plans and enforced from the date of their publication.

Moreover, the meeting explored the non-customs restrictions related to the agriculture, fisheries and food security sectors. It also touched on the joint cooperation between the GCC countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
