Oman Participates in International Public Procurements Conference

Muscat, The Sultanate of Oman took part via videoconferencing in the international conference on improving the efficiency and transparency of public procurements and focusing on systems of control.

The State’s Audit Institution (SAI) represented Oman at the conference, which was organized by the Court of Accounts of the Portuguese Republic, in coordination with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The event saw the participation of a large tournout of representatives of member states at the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

The conference elaborated on a joint project between the OECD and the Portuguese Court of Accounts funded by the European Union, notably the goals of development.

The project focuses on improving the efficiency and transparency of public procurements by upgrading the quality and effectiveness of external auditing.

It also touches on the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, besides ways to develop SAI data frameworks.
