Oman, Saudi Arabia Ink Cooperation Programme on International Connectivity


Riyadh: Oman Broadband Company today signed a cooperation programme with Saudi firm Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications and Information Technology. The cooperation programme deals with measures to provide infrastructure facilities, including the establishment of fiber optic networks to enhance international connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is aimed at making the facilities available to operators to help generate mutual strategic benefits.

The cooperation programme was signed by Eng. Sultan Ahmed Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband Company, and Eng. Wael Alghamdi, Chief Executive Officer of Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications and Information Technology company.

Al Wahaibi said that the cooperation programme will enhance the readiness of fiber optic network infrastructures, enabling them to realize ‘terrestrial connectivity’ across the borders between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.

The signing ceremony took place within the context of Om
an Broadband Company’s participation in Saudi LEAP 2024 exhibition, which is being held in Riyadh until 7 March 2024.
