Muscat, Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources today met with Dr. Fayez Mikdad, Syrian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.

Held via video-conferencing, the meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation related to plant and animal genetic resources and food safety and quality.

The two sides also discussed the import of veterinary medicines and vaccines and exchanging technical expertise in the fields of traditional and modern irrigation, as well as aquaculture and the available investment opportunities between the two countries within the food security system.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Bassam Al Khatib, Syrian Ambassador the Sultanate of Oman and some officials from both sides.
