Oman-Tanzania Business Forum Explores Means of Enhancing Partnerships in Economic Sectors


Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) today organized the Oman-Tanzania Business Forum. The event explored means of enhancing business and economic partnerships between the Omani and Tanzanian private sectors, especially in the fields of constructions, real estate, food security, mining, energy, transport and logistic services.

Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said that the forum is considered an opportunity to boost the historic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Republic of Tanzania. Investments between the two countries increased by 13.5% during the last two years, he added. Further, the forum saw the signing of 7 memoranda of understanding in different economic fields, such as the sectors of constructions, real estate, agriculture and information and communications technology (ICT), as well as renewable energy, investment services and consultations.

Several working papers were presented during the forum dealing with the offered i
ncentives and investment opportunities in Oman and Tanzania.

B2B meetings were also held between Omani and Tanzanian businesspeople to explore means of establishing business and investment partnerships.
