The Sultanate of Oman will host the first edition of the International Occupational Health Summit (iOHS 2024), due to be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4 to 7 February 2024.
Themed ‘Towards Sustainable Health Excellence at the Workplace’, the summit is organized by Oman Energy Association (OPAL) in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, government departments and private sector companies.
Abdulrahman Humaid Al Yahya’ee, CEO of OPAL, said that the summit will deal with local, regional and global occupational health standards, with special emphasis on effective management of workers’ welfare.
Al Yahya’ee pointed out that the summit seeks to establish a global platform for occupational health in the region, review global occupational health standards, best practices, innovation and technology. The summit will also organize a forum for leaders in the sector, physicians, professionals, academics, consultants, students and relevant parties. The overall aim is to share expe
rtise and ensure the development of better protection systems for a healthy and sustainable work environment, he added.
The summit will highlight Oman’s efforts to adopt world-class occupational health standards and practices in various industry sectors, said Al Yahya’ee, noting that the event is expected to draw a large turnout of local, regional and international speakers, experts, specialists and academics.
