Oman, UAE Hold Talks on Agricultural, Fisheries Cooperation

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), represented by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, held a session of talks on agricultural and fisheries cooperation in Muscat today.

The session was chaired from the Omani side by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, whilst it was chaired from the UAE side by Mariam Mohammed Al Mheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, who is currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.

The session explored ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agricultural and animal wealth, fisheries and food safety, as well as exchanging technical expertise in establishing food security projects.

The session was attended by Mohammed Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, the undersecretaries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and officials from both sides.
