Oman Vision 2040 Organizes Seminars for Civil Society Organizations

Oman Vision 2040 project today organized a seminar for representatives of civil society organizations and discussed with them the major issues and themes of Vision 2040.

The participants were briefed on Vision2040, the role of civil society organizations in the development process, the areas at which the civil society can focus on to enhance its role in the development process in the future.

The seminar also highlighted the challenges facing civil society organizations in building an effective society, the future relationship among the government, private sector and civil society. The participants pointed out that the key challenges for them include the legislative and procedural hindrances and the need to re-draft certain legislations and systems that regularize the civil society work in the Sultanate.

On his part, Dr. Yahya bin Mohammed bin Zaher al- Hinai, Director of Family Development Department at the Ministry of Social Development said that the session will focus on the role of civil society organizations, especially societies in drafting Vision 2040.
