Omani Project Contests King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation, Achievement

Amman, Omani young man Ahmed Amer Al Jabri skated to the final round of Jordan’s King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement, 6th edition.

Al Jabri’s project, codenamed Qatra or “droplet”, utilizes modern techniques on the rationalization of water use in irrigating plants.

A winner in the contest will receive $50,000 for the development of his/her prototype.

The winning projects are shortlisted by a specialized technical committee from the Arab world.

Over the past five chapters, the biennial award was won by 41 competitors from eight Arab countries and it generated 85,000 direct and indirect jobs.
