Omani-Saudi Relations Witness Steady Growth: Ambassador

Muscat, Abdullah Saud Al Anzi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sultanate of Oman, has said that, upon the advent of the 18th of November anniversary this year, Omani-Saudi relations bear a special hallmark.

“Bilateral relations have been witnessing steady growth, notably in the field of economic integration—a positive outcome of the historic visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik to the Kingdom on 11 July 2021 and his meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,” said Al Anzi.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the ambassador said that the results of the Omani-Saudi summit are attaining fruition, thanks to the efforts being exerted to upgrade bilateral relations into wider spheres that meet the aspirations of the two countries’ leaderships. This will be followed by building an economic integration structure that realizes maximum benefit from economic resources and the two sides’ potentials, he added.

Al Anzi affirmed the two countries’ compatibility of ambitions based on common factors and incentives that facilitate integration. He commended the level of investment incentives provided by Oman for investors from the GCC and the world at large. These incentives have qualified Oman to become one of the first investment-attracting destinations in the region, said Al Anzi, quoting Oman’s strategic location, industrial estates and Duqm Special Economic Zone and Free Zone.

Al Anzi reiterated Saudi Arabia’s current perspective to achieve maximum benefit from existing resources and realizing joint interests with Oman within the context of the two countries’ visions (Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030) that share common goals, especially in economic and development areas.

The ambassador affirmed the approach espoused by Oman and Saudi Arabia to shape the elements of a brighter future for bilateral relations is capable of accomplishing their common ambitions and realizing major positive developments that will set the ground for more promising projects and achieve the desired objectives.
