Palestine obtains advanced positions in the Global Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence Hackathon


Abu Dhabi – Together – The Palestinian team participating in the Global Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence Hackathon, held in the United Arab Emirates, achieved advanced positions after competing with 220 male and female students representing 20 teams from 54 countries.

The student Sojood Jamous from An-Najah National University, as part of the international team No. 17, got second place, and Dr. Anas Tohme from An-Najah National University, supervisor of the international team No. 3, won third place, repeating, and the student Muhammad Al-Aker from An-Najah National University, as part of the international team No. 15. It won third place repeatedly, and team No. 17, with student Sojood Jamous as a member, won the award for the best application that serves the goals of sustainable development.

This Palestinian participation comes under the umbrella of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, represented by the Center for Technological Creativity and Innovation, and in partnership with
the Palestinian Computing Hackathon Committee, which includes membership of all Palestinian universities, headed by Dr. Musa Muhammad Faraj Allah and sponsored by the Palestinian Telecommunications Company.

For his part, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Abdel Razzaq Al Natsheh The role of the committee and the Palestinian universities in training students in cooperation with the Ministry, stressing the support for the participation of Palestinian students in international competitions as it is a unique opportunity for students to receive direct guidance from experts in the technological sector and the academic community within the Ministry’s plan that focuses on innovation and digital leadership leading to a knowledge-based economy. Skills.

The Chairman of the Committee also praised Dr. Musa Farajallah praised the great efforts made by the Ministry and members of the committee, which extended over the past year, which yielded these honorable results, expressing his pride in the excell
ence, creativity, training and continuous guidance exerted by An-Najah National University to raise the name of Palestine in the most important international forums.
