Passengers in Oman’s Airports Reach More than One Million till March 2021

Muscat, The total number of passengers travelling through airports in the Sultanate (Muscat International, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm) until the end of March 2021 reached 1,003,762 compared to 3,571,647 passengers as at the end of March 2020, comprising a decline by 71.9%.

According to preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and information (NCSI), the number of flights till the end of March 2021 stood at 8,191 (including 5,865 international flights, 2,236 domestic flights), compared to the same period in 2020, which stood at 27,535 flights, (23,815 international flights, 3,720 domestic flights).

Nationalities of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan topped the total number of passengers in the Sultanate’s airports till the end of

March 2021. The number of Indian passengers stood at 334,131 (arrivals 288,565 and departures 45,566). Bangladeshi passengers stood at 108,605

(arrivals 89,102 and departures 19,503). Meanwhile, the Pakistani passengers stood at 99,670 (arrivals 89,338 and departures 10,332).
