Premier League Sides Dominate in UEFA Champions League

League second legs having ended, we now know the eight teams who

will compete in this season’s quarter-finals. The Premier League

dominates with four clubs present, both Manchester clubs, (City and

United), Liverpool and Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola’s City claimed an impressive 7-0 win over Schalke

after their 3-2 win in Germany, Man United completed a late comeback

to eliminate Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on away goals after a 3-3

scoreline, Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs saw off Borussia Dortmund with

a 4-0 aggregate win and Liverpool won 3-1 away to Bayern Munich

after a scoreless first leg at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will be Spain’s only representative after

they destroyed Lyon 5-1 at the Camp Nou, having drawn the first leg in

France 0-0. Ajax, Porto and Juventus are others who are the sole

representatives of their respective countries, the Spanish MARCA

newspaper reported.
