Doha, October 21 (QNA) – Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) today launched Qatar National Research Strategy to support the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 and Qatar National Development Strategy.
President of research and development at Qatar Foundation Faisal Mohamed Al-Suwaidi, who unveiled the Strategy at the opening session of the Joint Qatar Foundation Annual Research Forum and Arab Expatriate Scientists Network Symposium 2012, said the strategy concerns the State of Qatar, adding that an strategic plan was drawnup for its implementation in cooperation with concerned bodies within the State of Qatar and abroad, including different states, universities, institutes, providers of services and the industrial sector.
Our work and expectations with respect to Qatar National Research Strategy will be linked with Qatar National Vision 2030 through a fruitful future cooperation with the concerned parties in the field of applied research and benefiting from this cooperation with other companies, including the network of Arab expatriate scientists in order to sponsor researches and to oversee their success.
He reviewed application methods of these visions and researches aimed to solve problems in the State of Qatar, the region and the world . He said in this context that HH Sheikha Moza “gave us inspiration and vision for that.”
Al-Suwaidi stated that the State of Qatar is seeking, through Qatar National Vision 2030 to employ the energies and set the development priorities including the scientific research priority, pointing out that Qatar National Research Strategy deals with how to achieve these pillars which include health, biomedicine, energy, environment, computer science, information technology, arts, behavioral, social and humanitarian sciences and Islamic studies. He explained that the elements of this strategy are all in favor of the State of Qatar, with a special focus on the mentioned areas.
