QATARI EMIR CONFERS WITH US SECRETARY OF STATE ON SITUATION IN GAZA AND OCCUPIED PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES


Today, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received United States Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, who is currently visiting Doha, where both men tackled the strategic relations between the two friendly countries and ways to develop them.

Talks also touched on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

In this regard, Sheikh Tamim stressed “the necessity of working towards an immediate ceasefire and protecting civilians, introducing sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid into all areas of the Gaza Strip, and working to reduce the escalation in order to ensure stability and security in the region.”

The meeting was attended by Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
