Real Estate Deals Value in Oman Surpasses RO 261 Million till January 2023

Muscat, 6 Mar (ONA) —- The total value of property transactions in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of January 2023 rose by 20.4% to reach RO 260.5 million, compared to RO 216.3 million during the corresponding period in 2022, according to the latest date issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The figures revealed that the total fees collected for all transactions by the end of January 2023 amounted to RO 5.8 million, comprising an increase of 2.6% compared to the same period in 2022.

The traded value of sales contracts decreased by 11.7%, to stand at RO 118.4 million by the end of January 2023, compared to RO 134.2 million at the end of January 2022. Sales contracts also saw a decline of 13.8%, to stand at 5,746 contracts at the end of January 2023, compared to 6,664 contracts at the end of January 2022.

The statistics indicated a surge in the traded value of mortgage contracts at the end of January 2023 by 76.1%, to reach RO 141.3 million, compared to RO 80.2 million at the end of January 2022.

Meanwhile, the number of mortgage contracts reached 1,698 at the end of January 2023, comprising an increase of 13.9% over the same period of 2022 when it stood at 1,491 contracts.

The traded value of swap contracts declined by 56.3% to reach RO 800,000 at the end of January 2023, compared to RO 1.9 million at the end of January 2022. The number of swap contracts went up by 3.1% to reach 134 contracts, compared to 130 contracts by the end of January 2022.

According to NCSI statistics, as many as 21,627 title deeds were issued by the end of January 2023, constituting a rise by 4.9%.

Meanwhile, the number of title deeds issued for the GCC citizens surged by 113.5% to reach 111 title deeds compared to 52 by the end of January 2022.
