Registration opens for Khalid bin Hamad Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Competition

Registration to take part in the fourth edition of Khalid bin Hamad Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Competition has today been given the go-ahead.

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, issues directives in this regard.

Chaired by Bahrain Polytechnic Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Resources and Quality Osama Al Sayyed, the the High Organizing Committee convened held a meeting and finalized preparations for the 2023 edition.

Bahrain Polytechnic is organizing the Khalid bin Hamad Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Competition in strategic partnership with cooperation with the Information and Electronic Government Authority, Microsoft and Almoayyed Computers Middle East (ACME)

Contenders wishing to compete in the innovation and AI contest are required to register before the deadline expires on May 13 at noon.

The competition will be open to both university and high school students, provided that their age does not exceed 25 years.

The competition tests participants’ abilities to create innovative projects using one of Microsoft’s cloud computing services. The participating teams (each team of 2 to 4 members) will have a minimum period of three weeks to work on the project

There will also be workshops to support the participants during these weeks. Each team’s project will be assessed by the evaluation committee during the exhibition, and the winners will be honored during the closing ceremony of the competition.

Bahrain Polytechnic CEO Dr. Ciarán Ó Catháin expressed thanks to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for patronizing the competition, which will contribute to developing a knowledge-based society.

“This competition is in line with the Polytechnic’s strategic plan 2023-2026, which focuses on developing educational outcomes in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and transforming the Polytechnic into a more modern, efficient, innovative, and flexible regional higher education provider in responding to market needs. the job”, he said.

“Artificial intelligence plays a pivotal role in changing our present and shaping the features of the near future. Hence the importance of providing opportunities for students and youth to acquire the necessary skills to enable them to make the most of the capabilities of artificial intelligence to achieve their future goals”, said General Manager of Microsoft Bahrain and Oman, Shaikh Saif bin Hilal Al Hosani.
