Request addressed to Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs approved

Muscat: Office of Majlis Al Shura approved on Tuesday the request addressed to the Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs on the legal provisions /article inactive from 1972 to 2022.

The request also dealt with coordination with the other government departments on the issue. Office of Majlis Al Shura decided referral of the request to the department concerned.

Office of Majlis Al Shura also reviewed the letter of workers whose service has been terminated by Kentz Over Seas, which letter is addressed to the Chairman of Majlis Al Shura.

The letter dealt with the reduction of salaries of employees and their release from the company’s service.

The Office of Majlis Al Shura decided referral of the issue to the Youth and Human Resources Committee for their review and preparation of a report on the issue.

Office of Majlis Al Shura also approved the request to the Minister of Health on cancer patients taking tobacco and its derivatives.

The request is on informing Majlis Al Shura with the number of cancer patients on account of taking tobacco in the Sultanate from 2020 to 2022.

The Office of Majlis Al Shura also reviewed the reply of the Minister of Education on teaching agricultural education subject at schools.

The ministry’s reply is that most agricultural concepts have been incorporated in the syllabus of class 1 to 12.

The discussions were held during the 5 th regular meeting of the fourth annual convening (2022/2023) of the 9 th term of Majlis Al Shura, chaired by Khalid bin Hilal Al Mawali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura in the presence of the members of the Office of Majlis Al Shura.

The Office of Majlis also reviewed the reply of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on the lighting works the Sur – Quriyat Road and Sur / Wilayat of Al Kamil Wal Wafi Road and the reply of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion on the report of the Economic and Financial Committee.
