RMWR Paves 758 km in Various Governorates till September 2018

Muscat, Ahmed bin Abdullah al Shehi, Minister of

Regional Municipalities and Water Resources affirmed that the Ministry

of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (RMWR) is inspired by

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said’s ideas and principles in

enhancing the municipal and water work system and upgrading the

level of services in line with the development’s requirements and its

goals in serving citizens.

He said that the ministry has taken advantage of the outputs and

results of the quality management system, which has contributed to

the organization of the mechanism of work and improve it by taking

advantage of the requirements of this system and translate it on the

ground. He pointed out that during the current year 2018 the Ministry

received a number of projects, including pavement of roads, a total

length of the received roads up to September 2018 reached 758

kilometers in various parts of the Sultanate.

He explained that the ministry is currently implementing two

groundwater dams, the first is in Wadi al-Salif in the Wilayat of Ibri in

the Governorate of A’Dhahirah with a storage capacity of one million

cubic meters, while the second dam is being implemented on Wadi

al-Oyun in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi in the Governorate of North

A’SharqiaH with a storage capacity of one million cubic meters of water.
